BLEDISLOE MEDAL

Oratory Contest To-night To-night the first three-yearly contest for the Bledisloe Medal for oratory will be held in the Town Hall. Two speakers will represent each of the four university colleges, the local contestants being Miss C. S. Forde and .Mr. R. J. Reardon. The subjects of the orations will be: Samuel Marsden, Bishop.Seiwyn, Sir George Grey, Mother Mary Aubert, Tnraatl Waka Nene, The Annexation of New Zealand, James BnSby, and R. J. Seddon. While the judges are conferring Items will be given by Mr. Newton Goodson, Mr. James McDonald, and Mr. W. J. Mountjoy, junr. A Spanish ballet will be presented by four of Miss Kathleen O’Brien’s pupils—Misses Joan Raine, Dorothy Daniells, Thelma Bartholomew and Joan Benge. His Excellency the Governor-General. Lord Bledisloe. will present the medal at the conclusion of the contest.
