FAREWELL AT CARTERTON

Colonel T. W. and Mrs. McDonald Colonel T. W. and Mrs. McDonald, who have been living at Carterton for some years past, were tendered a farewell by a representative gathering of Wairtirapa people, at a pleasant gathering held in the King’s Theatre, Carterton, on Monday evening. Kir. J. W. Card, Mayor of Featherston, presented Colonel McDonald with a cheque subscribed by his Wairarapa friends, with the request that he buy a suitable memento of his residence in the district. Mr. Card said that Colonel McDonald’s services had been appreciated ’>y all. The Mayor of Carterton, Mr. W. Fisher, also spoke, and Colonel McDonald returned thanks.
