An Antarctic Whaler.— Much interest has been shown in the huge Norwegian whaling factory ship, the Sir James Clark Ross, which arrived at Wellington on Monday and sailed in continuation of her southward voyage yesterday afternoon. (1) The Sir James Clark Ross leaving for the Antarctic regions. (2) An end-on view showing the squat bow and the great width of the whaler. (3) A view from the slide upon which whales are hauled up at the stern of the ship, showing the twin funnels and the huge winches used in hauling. —“Dominion” photos.
