For Girl Guide Captain A very enjoyable handkerchief tea was given the other day at the residence of Mrs. Sydney H. Higgs, Karaka Bay, for Miss Ruth Pinhey, captain of (lie Seatoun Girl Guides, on the occasion of her approaching marriage. The members of the Guide Committee—Mesdames Cliudley, Owen, Collins, Rypecki, and Gibson—and friends, together with a large number of guides, attended. The president, Mrs. R. N. Gordon, on behalf of the committee, in presenting Miss Pinhey with a charming water t.-olour painting, emphasised the affection and esteem in wlflch she was held. Guide Craddock, on behalf of the Girl Guides, also presented a bouquet and basket of beautiful handkerchiefs.
