MARGARET RAWLINGS, the celebrated young English actress, and her splendid company, after scoring success after success in Australia, will come to New Zealand, Opening at the Grand Opera House, Wellington, shortly, in “The Barretts of Wimpole Street,” the play that created quite a sensation when it. was first presented in London. Originally banned by the censor, this cleverly-written comedydrama eventually won its way to public favour by the undoubted merits of its general composition, and the outstanding dramatic ability of the ( famous English artiste, who will shortly make her first appearance in the Dominion. Under the aegis of the enterprising firm of J. C. Williamson, Ltd., Miss Rawlings and her talented company, which includes several who appeared with her in the original London production, have taken Melbourne and Sydney by storm, and remembering the discrimination of New Zealand audiences, it is certain that they will put their sign-manual of success on what has been described as one of the outstanding dramatic plays of. the century.
