BILLIARDS TITLE

New Zealand Championship SECOND ROUND RESULTS .By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Sept. 22. The second round of the New Zealand amateur billiards championship was completed to-dny when H. McLean (Christchurch) defeated P. M. Keppel (Milton) by 666 to 420, and C. Mason (Dunedin) beat A. Lindsay (Dunedin) by 666 to 575. In'the former game, which was not a high-class one, McLean was the cleaner player, and gradually drew ahead to win by a comfortable margin. Mason, who played a brilliant game on Tuesday, was not in form to-night, and although he won with a good deal to spare, he was never sure of his position, and Lindsay put up a great fight. Mason’s best breaks were 54, 47. 44 and 42. ami Lindsay’s 62. 30 and several twenties.
