M.C.C. Touring Team SCARBOROUGH MATCH London, September 5. Though the wicket was somewhat tricky and the cricket of a holiday character, the M.C.C. Test team, which is to tour Australia and New Zealand, failed to distinguish itself in batting at Scarborough against Leveson Gower’s eleven, only the adventurous hitting of Brown and Larwood arresting a collapse. Bowes, whose omission in the team for Australia has been much criticised in Yorkshire, worried the batsmen with occasional short-pitched bumpers, but his deliveries mostly kept low.
