Suburbs, Athletic Park, 3 p.m., G. • Healey. Third Grade.—'First division: Athletic v. Moera, Hutt Park No. 2, 3 p.m., A. R. Morice; Wellington v. Wellington College Old Boys, Lyall Bay No. 1, 3 p.m., K. Matthews. Third division: Athletic v. Institute, Lyall Bay No. 7, 3 p.m.. S. Morris. Fourth Grade.—City v. Suburbs, Athletic Park, 1.30 p.m., J. Saunders. Sixth Grade.—City v. Suburbs, Johnsonville, 3 p.m., H. Meacham. Seventh Grade.—Petone v. Onslow, Petone No. 1, 3 p.m., G. Rathbone.
FOURTH & SIXTH GRADES Teams for Saturday Messrs. Bond, Cleland, and Wright have chosen the following players for the Town versus Country 4th grade Rugby match to be played at Athletic Park on Saturday next at 1.30 p.m.:— Country—Backs: Spence (capt.), Greenstreet, O’Leary, Cleland and Reed (Petone), P'hilUps (Hutt), Little (Onslow), Marshall (Miramar), and M. HIU (Eastbourne). Forwards : Wakelln, Haines, McKone, and Ashton (Petone), Boon and Thorpe (beatoun), Reeves (Miramar), Carter 4'Huw), Wyeth (Upper Hutt), and M. Griffiths (Eastbourne). Town.—Backs: Littler (Ppneke), Wright (captain), Reynolds and Burney (Old Boys), Brook-Taylor (Technical Old Boys), Watt and Edgar (Varsity), and Higgins (Wellington). Forwards: Burke and Buddle (Varsity), Hogan and Barnau (bt. Patrick’s Old Boys), Bowman (Oriental , Hiunplierson and Bennett (Melrose-feel-wvn), McKinley and Sarslch (Wellington , Roddick (Athletic) and Ames (Old Boys). The Country team is to train at Petone gymnasium at 7.30 p.m. to-night, and the Town team at Newtown Park gymnasium at 7.30 p.m. on Thursday. The sixth grade match.is. I> be played at Johnsonville on Saturday next, and the following teams have been elected by Messrs. Costello, Burns, and Compton:— Country—Baeks: Perkinaon and Smith (Hutt), Archer, Parker, and Brown (I'etono), Mullins (Porlrua). Croft, McKenzie, and Burns (Johnsonville). Forwards: Finnan and Mantell (Petone), Lookman (Eastbourne), Martenett (Kaiwarra), Spencer (Hutt), Johnson, Burns, Moss, and Longhurst (Johnsonville). Town. —Backs: Thompson, Cowan, Barrett, Luekman, and Compton (Wellington), Finnigan (Mclrosc-Selwyn), Cliurehward (Athletic), and Broomfield (MJramar). Forwards: Julian, Cowley, and Leeks (Miramar), Scott and Gibson (Athletic), Hawkins, Barry, Diack, Steele, and Frazer-Robertson (Wellington). Both teams are to train at Athletic Club s gymnasium (Arlington Street), at 7 p.m. tO-morrow.
CHAMPION TEAMS Junior Title to Petone The junior Rugby championship was declared closed and awarded to Petone at last evening's meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union. The first division of the third grade will be decided on Saturday. Wellington, which is one point in the lead, will play Old Boys and Athletic will plav Moera. The second division of the third grade was declared closed and awarded to Oriental. The fifth grade championship was awarded to the Melrose-Selwyn team, and the seventh grade is to be decided next Saturday. _ ' , In the third grade Phmmerton has 28 points and Moera and Athletic each have 27 points. Athletic, however, has played p match less than the other two teams. Tho championship will depend ou the result of Saturday’s play.
