Wellington Spring Meeting ENTRANTS’ FORM REVIEWED (By “Overcheck.”) During the week 1 propose to discuss the form of the various horses engaged at the local meeting on Saturday, and today’s budget deals with those having engagements in the Trial, Sharpe, Nai Nai, and Wilford Handicaps. Trial and Sharpe Handicaps. Cimarron started four times last year for a second and a third. Both placed performances were registered at Hawke’s Bay in June. Times, 3.34 1-5, from 3.43, and 2.53 3-5 from 3.5, for twelve and ten furlongs respectively. Directum started 13 times last year without earning any place money. He also raced unsuccessfully at New Brighton on Saturday. Fernbrook Lass. Started three times, being placed third at Westport over twelve furlongs in March, registering 3.30 from 3.42. Lola Bingen. Four starts. Was placed second over twelve furlongs at Carterton in December, registering 3.31 2-5 from 3.45. Was similarly placed over ten furlongs at Wellington in January, running 2.54 3-5 from 3.7. • Raider started eight times, being placed second at Cheviot over eight furlongs, covered in 2.17 2-5. Handicap mark, 2.28. He was unplaced at New Brighton on Saturday’. Red Hope ran unplaced in his only start last season. War Officer faced the starter on eight occasions last year, running into a place three times. At .Ashburton in April he registered 3.28, and on the same course in June 3.27 4-5 from 3.45. At Riccarton in July he ran second over two miles in 4.50 3-5 from a 5.0 mark.

Betty Jinks faced the starter twice unsuccessfully last season, and Tollgate once. The former raced unsuccessfully on Saturday. Guy Star and Trada have not yet raced.

Nai Nai and Wilford Handicaps. El Merit has two wins and two seconds out of six attempts. Best times, 3.41 2- from 3.47 at Manawatu in March, and 4.55 from 4.56 at Wanganui iu April. Distances 14 and 2 miles respectively. Fairyland contested 21 races last year, •securing three wins, three seconds and a like number of thirds. Best times, 12 furlongs, 3.30 4-5 from 3.46 at Forbury in May, 2 miles at 4.57 4-5 from 4.58 at Oamaru in May. On the latter occasion the going was holding. She ran second to Louis Bingen at New Brighton on Saturday, going 4.48 3-5. Louis Bingen: Nine starts last season for three wins and two thirds. Best times, 12 furlongs, 3.36 3-5 from 3.46 at Methven in October; 2 miles, 4.49 2-5 from 5.4, also at Methven. Won from a 4.59 mark at Gore in December. He was successful at New Brighton on Saturday, going 4.46 from 4.55. Peter Fashion: Two wins and a third out of 12 attempts. Both wins were registered at Greymouth in October. Went 3.35 from 3.38 at Addington in January. Druscrn raced only once last year, and has not faced the starter during the current season. Stanley Bingen: Won at Methven in October, going 3.34 from 3.45 for 12 furlongs. Third at New Brighton in February and at Ashburton in June. Went 4.50 1-5 from 4.52 in latter race. Also 12 unplaced performances. Ran fourth at New Brighton on Saturday. Nelson Parrish: Contested five races unsuccessfully last year. Has registered 2.18 at a mile and 3.55 1-5 at 13 furlongs. Deceitful: Raced eight times last season, being second three times. Best times: 12 furlongs, 3.2 S 1-5 from 3.35; 13 furlongs, 3.55 1-5 from 3.53. Has had two races this season without being placed. \ Miss Leda won one race out of four attempts last season. The winning performance was registered at Wellington in March, when she covered 12 furlongs in 3.45 from a 3.56 mark. Wah won over two miles at Wellington in September and at Marlborough in April. Best time 4.51 2-5 from 4.52. Nine times unplaced. King's Voyage started only twice last season, being unplaced each time. Has cone 3.49 4-5 for 13 furlongs and 4.44 3- for 2 miles. Roth of these performances were registered at Wellington in the 1930-31 season. Has raced twice unsuccessfully this term. Mickey Audubon won one race last season and was placed in two others. Unplaced nine times. Went 3.48 3-5 from 3.53 at Addington in July. Best time at 2 miles 4.49 4-5 from 4.50. Ran unplaced at New Brighton on Saturday.
