“BAY OF PLENTY TIMES”

Sixtieth Anniversary Celebrated By Telegraph.—Press Association. Tauranga, September 6. The sixtieth anniversary of the establishment of the “Bay of Plenty Tinies” was celebrated last evening at a social gathering of the staff. The mayor, Mr. B. C. Robbins, in proposing the toast of the paper, expressed pleasure that the town possessed a progressive daily paper. The managing editor, Mr. W. H. Gifford, in replying, referred to the fact that he had been proprietor for onethird of the paper’s history, and said lie hoped that it would still continue to record faithfully the history of the town.
