EMBARGO UPHELD

Foot-and-Mouth Disease PALMERSTON RESOLUTION Dominion Special Service. Palmerston North. August 16. The general committee of the Mnnawatu and West Coast A. aud P. Association passed a resolution at its meeting this morning signifying its opposition to the removal of the present embargo on the importation of live stock into the Dominion on account of the danger of introducing foot-and-mouth disease. The question was raised by Mr. M. A. Conway when a circular letter was received from the Royal Agricultural Society dealing with the question. Air. Conway said it was a matter that should not be passed over lightly and moved the resolution, which was carried unanimously. Air. J. A. Mitchell said it was strange that-the Royal Agricultural Society was one of the principal agitators for the abolition of the embargo.
