WEDDING
Corlett —Billington A quiet but pretty wedding was solemnised on Wednesday, July 20, at the Methodist Parsonage, Eketahuna, by the Rev. Benny, between Kate, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H. Billington, Of Kakariki, and Arthur Thomas, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. Corlett, Masterton. The bride wore a smart mist blue tailored costume with . hat to match, carried a bouquet of spring flowers, and was given away by her father. She was attended by Miss Kitty Welsh as bridesmaid, who wore blue velvet with hat to match. She carried a bouquet of spring violets.with blue streamers. The duties of best man were carried out by Mr. H. J. Billington, brother of the bride. After the ceremony relatives and friends of the bride and bridegroom were entertained at the Trinity Tea Rooms, where the usual toasts were honoured. Mr. and Mrs. Corlett later left by car to spend their honeymoon in the south. Mr. and Mrs. Coriett’s future home will be in Mangamutu, Pahlatua. In the evening Mr. and Mrs. Billington entertained friends and settlers of the surrounding districts in the Kakariki School, when a very pleasant evening was spent in dancing to excellent music supplied by Mr. Nation, Boyer and others.
