OPENS THIS EVENING
New Ambassador Cabaret After weeks of preparation, Wellington’s latest cabaret, the New Ambassador, Bond Street, will open to-night with a special programme, special music, and special decorations. Money has been lavishly spent on the new cabaret, and it is modern and up-to-date in every respect, with smart furnishings, a tip-top floor, pleasant lighting arrangements, and a general air which should appeal to Wellington’s dancing public. At the grand opening this evening dancing will begin at 8.30 p.m. and end at 2 a.m. Tommy Stratton and his reorganised Royal Ambassador Band have been specially engaged by the management to supply the dance music and cabaret band accompaniments for the various performers. Cyril Tilley will appear in song and dance numbers, Nellie Doule in a Hawaiian hula dance, “Dilly and. Dally” in song, patter and dance, and there will be exhibitions of the latest tango, quickstep and waltz by Miss Margaret O’Connor and Mr. Ted Priestly.
