WEDDING
Condon—Lawton A pretty wedding was celebrated in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Pahiatua, on Wednesday evening, when Amy, only daughter of Mrs. D. Lawton, of Mangamutu, and the late Mr. H. E. Lawton, Paeroa, was married to Austin Henry, only son of Mr. and Mrs. H. Condon, of Picton. The Rev. A. F. Sutherland officiated, and Miss Godfrey presided at the organ. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Gordon Lawton, wore a long tight-fitting gown of ivory satin beaute, with long sleeves, yoke, and flared panels of lace. Her embroidered tulle veil was arranged at the back of her head, with a coronet of orange blossom. She carried a sheaf of white and pink roses, freeslas, and maidenhair fern. She was attended by her cousin, Miss Alice Pickup, of Wellington, as bridesmaid, who wore a frock of cameo pink lace, made on tight-fitting lines and flaring from the knees. The short panne velvet coatee was made with short sleeves and white fur cuffs. Her embossed velvet shoes were of a deep shade of pink, and she wore a Dolly Varden hat to tone. She carried a ! sfipwer bouquet of pink.roses, freesias, and maidenhair fern. The best man was Mr. H. Pinfold, of Mangamutu. Over seventy guests were welcomed at the reception by Mrs. Lawton, who was dressed in Burgundy crepe satin, with vestee of ecru georgette and coat of diagonal repp, and musquash fur collar. The bride travelled in a smart green basket-weave repp, with touches of lemon. She wpre a black velour coat with coney seal collar, tight-fitting green hat, and black shoes. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Condon’s home is in Palmerston North.
