CINDERELLA BALL
One of the busiest persons at the Mayor’s Cinderella Ball, which will take place on Thursday, September 8, will be the Court Jester, whose fund of pleasantries and antics must bo unlimited to satisfy the demands likely to be made upon his humour while ho. mingles ambng the crowd of harlequins, columbines, dashing rodeo-riders, and cowboys from the Wild West; dainty Madame Pompadour and her accompanying gallants; representatives of all nations in their native dress; French artists; Chinese mandarins; pierrots and pierrettes; North American Indians ; Hawaiian hula dancers; Dresden shepherdesses, with a sprinkling of clowns, minstrels, sheiks, and members of the Ku Klux Klan. This spectacular ball, which is being held Under ViceRegal patronage, promises to be one of the outstanding events of the year. Dancers are urged to secure their tickets well in advance, as only a limited number will be issued.
