BRITISH SAILORS’ SOCIETY

There was a large attendance at the rooms of the'British Sailors’ Society on Thursday evening,’ when a concert very kindly arranged by Mr. Vai Jones was held for tie entertainment of men from the ships in port. Items were given by Mesdames E. Astill and G. CJayton, Misses Esme Crow, 01liver, B. Ferguson, Messrs. Carbin and V. Jones, Miss C. Conlon, L.T.C.L., being the accompanist. At the conclusion of the programme supper was served by the young ladies of the society. A vote of thanks was heartily passed to Mr. Jones and party for their excellent concert, and the evening drew to a close with the singing of "God Save the King.”
