GRAVE ANXIETY

Boycott of Japanese TENSION IN SHANGHAI Shanghai, August 10. The intensification of the antiJapanese boycott and the possibility of the Japanese again descending on Shanghai are creating grave anxiety. Antl-Japanese posters are again appearing on the streets, while the Chinese Chamber of Commerce warned officially the Grocers’ Guild against the Importation and sale of Japanese produce. The Seamen’s Guild is warning shipowners against using Japanese coal. Dispatches from Japan state that the Japanese will not hesitate to revisit Shanghai should the protection of their Interests necessitate such a step.
