COLLEGE BOXING

Scots Annual Tourney ELIMINATION BOUTS Physical fitness, gamencss, and not a little science was again in evidence in the gymnasium at Scots College last night, when the annual boxing tournament of the college was continued. Despite the wintry conditions, there was another large attendance of parents and friends, who quite agreed that the policy of the college in making boxing compulsory for all medically fit lads over six years of age was a wise one. Bigger boys took the ring last night, and some spirited bouts were witnessed, particularly in the 1651 b. and 1551 b. divisions. D. C. Hassall showed speed in the 1651 b. class, and had power behind his punches. He was much too good for Cathie, and knocked his man out with a solid right hook to the solar plexns. J. W. Bremner, who outpointed Buist, was another promising performer in the 1651 b. division, and the meeting between him and Hassall in the final on Saturday night should provide some thrills. Mr. E. Perry was the referee, and Mr. J. A. Duffy, the physical instructor to the college, made an efficient announcer. The finals will be decided on Saturday night, when some excellent entertainment should be provided.
