S.O.S. FOR BLOTTERS

TT is always the little'things that X hold up the big productions. During the filming of “The Calendar,” the Edgar Wallace racing thriller, at the British Lion Studios at Beaconsfield, the thermometer in the studio registered round about the 100 mark, when Herbert Marshall, who is playing the lead, found himself iu a constant perspiration when facing the powerful arclights. The make-up expert was sent

for and he was kept busy dabbing Mr. Marshall’s face with blotting paper—so much so that the supply of paper very soon gave out. A messenger wos hurriedly dispatched to the town to secure a fresh supply, but after a lengthy search of local stationers he returned with the sad news that all were sold out. A car was then hurried to High Wycombe, where, after calling on two more stationers, a limited supply was secured.
