GARBO’S SALARY
'THE latest reports from Hollywood x state that Greta Garbo has decided to abandon her proposed trip to her native Sweden and that she will probably remain In Hollywood. Rumour has it that the star is negotiating for a new contract at a salary of £3OOO a week. The famous Garbo silence is being maintained and the star has declined to say whether the report is a rumour or not. Most of the stars have had their salaries considerably lowered recently; so if the alluring Greta manages to get £3OOO a week (her last contract gave her only half that amount), she will be about the only actress in Hollywood who has not felt the effect of the depression.
