Arrangements for Tramping Every mail brings fresh confirmation of the -wonderful success achieved by mystery trains in Great Britain, America, and Australia. In all cases they sprang into popularity from the outset, and the subsequent figures.far exceeded all expectations. The clear deduction, is that these mystery trains have met and satisfied a real human -need. It is evident already that New Zealanders will make the same response as their, kin in other parts of the Empire. The Railway Department is exerting Itself to the Utmost to make these trips as interesting as possible, and there is every indication that the effort will be thoroughly appreciated by the public. Next Sunday’s mystery train will leave Thorndon station at 10.5 a.m. It will stop at Ngaio, Khandallah, and Johnsonville, and take the excursionists to a point from,which they will have an inspiring tramp of approximately eight miles. For people who desire only comparatively mild walking exercise, a shorter tramp is available. The team of expert guides will Include ladies. Hot water will be provided free at the lunch hour, for which a cosy place has been selected. The return train will reach Thorndon at G pan, ’
