Agricultural returns for England and Wales show that there are 9,362,000 acres of arable land under cultivation, being a decrease of 220,000 compared with last year. There Is a shrinkage of the acreage under barley, oats, and rye, but an increase of 91,000 acres tn wheat Agricultural workers number 716,000, a decrease of 20,000. There is a marked increase in livestock, especially cattle and pigs.
