ACREAGE DECREASE
Agricultural England and Wales LIVESTOCK INCREASE By Telegraph—Frew Ansa.—Copyright. (Bee. August 8, 8.40 pm.) London, August 8. Agricultural returns for England and Wales show that there are 9,362,000 acres of arable land under cultivation, being a decrease of 220,000 compared with last year. There Is a shrinkage of the acreage under barley, oats, and rye, but an increase of 91,000 acres tn wheat Agricultural workers number 716,000, a decrease of 20,000. There is a marked increase in livestock, especially cattle and pigs.
