The Minister will return to Wellington to-morrow evening. The Hob. R. Masters, Minister ot Industries and Commerce, left for Christchurch last evening and he will open the Winter Show there to-day. He will return to Wellington on Tuesday morning, after attending to departmental business over the week-end. Sir R. Heaton’Rhodes, of Christchurch, is staying at the Midland Hotel. Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., left for the south last evening. Mr.' McHardy Foreman left for the south last evening. Mr. A. M. Burns, manager of the Christchurch “Press,” returned south last evening. Messrs W. H. Cowper and C. M. Olilvier, of Christchurch, returned south last evening. Mr. D. H. S. Riddiford, of Featherston, returned from a visit to the Old Country by the Rangitata yesterday. Mr. William Healy, of Brooklyn, who has been visiting Ireland and attended the Eucharistic Congress at Dublin, returned by the Rangitata yesterday. The Rev. A. J. Seamer, superintendent of Methodist Maori Missions, and pre-sident-elect of the Methodist Conference, is a visitor to Wellington. Mr. R. W. Gibbs, director of the Bank of New Zealand, returned to Wellington yesterday after a visit to Dunedin. The Rev. D. B. MacGregor, a son of Mr. Justice MacGregor, arrived from England by the Rangitata yesterday. Mr. C. J. H. Nairn, of Napier, returned from 1 a short holiday trip to England by the Rangitata yesterday. Mr. F. J. Bennett, of Christchurch, who has been at "Cambridge University for the last two years, returned to New Zealand by the Rangitata yesterday. . Mr. W. Newton, acting Conciliation Commissioner, will leave to-morrow evening for Auckland, where, for the next fortnight, he is to preside over conciliation meetings to deal with industrial disputes. Mr. E. C. Wood, of the Dairy Division of the Department of Agriculture. Auckland, who has been assisting in the London office during the past season, returned to New Zealand by the Rangitata yesterday. Major-General W. L. H. Sinclair-; Burgess, General Officer. Commanding the New Zealand Military Forces, who inspected the Third Mounted Rifle Brigade at Burnham Camp, Canterbury, returned to Wellington by the Rangatira yesterday morning. Colonel G. F. C. Campbell, Controller and Auditor-General, who underwent an operation in a private hospital a few days ago, is understood to have intimated to the Government that he wishes to • retire. He is reported to be progressing favourably, Mr. R. D. Baker. A.M.1.C.E., has been advised from London that he has been admitted as a member of the Institution of Structural Engineers. Mr. Baker received his technical education at Can-' terbury College, and has been on the engineering staff of the Wellington City Council for the past four years. Mr. N. Laver, Christchurch; and Mr. R. W. Wilson, Christchurch, are at the Royal Oak Hotel. Mr. N. McNeil, of Sydney; Mr. J. F. Attwood, England; Mr. D. H. Riddiford. Featherston; and Mr. R. F.
