Meeting at Tawa Flat
The August meeting of the Tawa Flat Women’s Institute was held in the Methodist Churchroom. Mrs. Hawken presided over a full attendance of forty ' members. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded those members who assisted with the re- ' freshments at the recent conference. 1 They were Mesdames Alec Hook, H. ■ Teasdale, J. Turner, L. C. Utting, A. Woodman, and Miss N. Woodman. A general discussion took place ou I the activities of the conference and the exhibition of handicrafts. I Hostesses for the afternoon were Mesdames Bettridge and Herbert Greer. Mrs. Smith ably demonstrated the making of a knitted tea cosy, and several members gave further knitting hints Afternoon tea was served, after WJiich all joined in community singing. A hearty vote of thdnks was accorded the demonstrator and hostesses. . KNIT A DRESSING JACKET Beautifully cosy dressing jackets and I bed-wraps can be worked with the new “SOFTA” Wool.
