RETURN TO WORK
Auckland Boilermakers “ONLY UNDER PROTEST” By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, August 3. Thirty members of the Boilermakers’ Union who have been, idle since the strike was declared on July 21 returned to work to-day. A meeting of the union was held yesterday to review the position, and it was decided that it was useless to continue the strike. The awa'rd expired recently, and the Conciliation Council proceedings led to a deadlock. The employers offered amended terms, but these were rejected by the men. “It must not be considered that the men have accepted the terms in returning to work,” said the secretary of the union. “The return is made only under protest.”
