COWES REGATTA

Yachting on Solent Official Wireless Rugby, August 3. At the Cowes Regatta, Queen Mary’s Cup, for 15-ton yachts, was won by Sir Geoffrey Fielding’s Rosemary, with Major Powers Clark’s Yaruna second, and Mr. Chaplin’s Coral third, out of nine starters. The King’s Cup was won by Mr. Sopwith’s cutter Shamrock, with the King’s Britannia less than a minute behind, and Mr. Stephenson’s White Heather third. Only a gentle breeze was blowing in the Solent to-day. Shamrock won the King’s Cup last year when owned by the late Sir Thomas Lipton.
