New Secretary of Commerce By Telegraph—Press Assn.-—Copyright Washington, August 3. President Hoover to-day received and accepted the resignation of the Secretary of Commerce, Mr. R. P. Lamont, and immediately appointed Mr. Roy Chapin, of Detroit, chairman of the Hudson Motor Car Company, as bis successor. The President said that Mr. Lamont found it necessary to resign in order to re-enter private business. He praised Mr. Lamont for his services.
