TRAPPER’S LONG JOURNEY.
Frank Jacobson, who lives in the extreme north of Canada, had to think twice about hurrying off to his dentist when he had raging toothache a few weeks ago. After several days of agonising pain be decided that he must have hi» aching tooth extracted. The nearest dentist lived 1250 miles away, but that did not deter Jacobson. He started off, covering the first 620 miles in n sled drawn by dogs. At Aklavik Jacobson sent a wireless message to Maye on the Yukon ordering an aeroplane to be ready to take him io White Horse. From there he was able to go by train as far as Hagway and then on to Vancouver by steamer. From start to finish the journey took 32 days.
