The British Prime Minister has gone to London to attend a Cabinet meeting and transact other official business. He hopes to return to Scotland at the weekend.
Fire in the early morning yesterday gutted the clubhouse of the Killara Golf Club, reports a Sydney message. The damage is estimated at several thousands of pounds. The flames were visible for miles around. Despite the early hour and a cold rain, over 2000 persons watched the fire raze the buildling witbin an hour. Reports received in London indicate that during the past week Congress activities throughout India have been ineffective. The Sikh agitation in the . Punjab against forecasts of the Government’s communal award Is, however, i causing some unrest and increased com- | munal tension.
