ESPERANTO CLUB
Returned Members Welcomed A cordial welcome was given by the members of the Wellington Esperanto Club on Tuesday evening to Mrs. McGuigan and family on their return to Wellington from the United States. In returning thanks, Mrs. McGuigan said that in Philadelphia there was a considerable number of Esperantists, and Professor Heckler was teaching the language to between 300 and 400 students. Mr. W. McGuigan, speaking in Esperanto, gave an interesting description of the places and people he had met during their travels; Following the instruction work of the evening, Mr. W. 11. King spoke on ‘‘Radio Telephony,” Mr. L. E. Dust on ‘‘Ancient Civilisation,” and Mr. B. Potts on “Behind the Scenes at Hollywood.” Receipt was acknowledged of a Japanese translation into' Esperanto of a detective story, “The Golden Mask,” beautifully bound in Japanese cloth —a gift from Mr. Joseph Major, a former member of the Wellington club.
