SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
Tuesday’s concert at the Sailors’ Friend Society, in the hands of Mrs. Jackson, went with a swing and resulted in many encores, milch to the pleasure of the, guests, who sang the choruses lustily. The performers were Mrs. P. M. Jackson, Misses O’Regan. Reece, Miller, Dulcie McKinley, and Masters Allan Bruce and Ken Bruce. Miss Miller was at the piano. Again hospitality was dispensed by hostess and helpers. '' Mr. J. Moore, missioner, spoke on “The Contents,” in relation to temperance. The prizes for the competitions came from Mrs., Blair' and went to men awaiting ships." During the concert it was mentioned by the missioner that in a case that was heard in the courts recently it was announced that the plaintiff and defendant had been to the Seamen’s Mission to a dance on a recent evening. Mr. Moore said it could not be the Sailors’ Friend Society, for dances were never held there.
