FANCY DRESS BALL In Aid of Free Kindergarten In aid of the Lower Hutt Free Kindergarten a plain and fancy-dress masked ball was held at the Community Hall, Moera, on Saturday night, and proved -most successful. The hall was tastefully decorated with multi-coloured streamers and fronds of greenery. A Maori orchestra, under the leadership of Mr. D. Love, provided the music, and Mr. Edwards and Mr. Sutherland were M.C.’s. „ . Many novelty dances were held, including spot-light, confetti, and streamer dances. The statue dance was won by Miss Albrett and' Mr. Walling, and the Monte Carlo by. Among the many fancy dresses were “Gipsy,” Miss Corkin; “Back to Childhood,’’ Mrs. Sergeant: “Indian Squaw,” Mrs. Burns; “School Girl,” Miss Crocker; “Gipsy,” Miss Nicholls;; “Joy Girl,” Miss Nicholls; “Egyptian Lady,” Mrs. De Castro; “Mexican Boy,” Miss Paulin; Old English Lady.” Miss Linklater: “Maori Girl,” Miss Clark ; “Soldier Boy,” Mr. Wright.
