“THE GREAT THING”
Sunshine and Life SOMETHING ONE MISSES “London is all right, but New Zealanders can’t settle down there for long without wanting the sunshine,” said Mr. J. St J. Hindmarsh, formerly of Napier, who returned to New Zealand by the Ruahine yesterday at the end of a year spent in England. “Sunshine is the great point in a New Zealander’s life,” he remarked to “The Dominion.” “In London there is a lack of sunshine, and even to see Wellington as
it is this morning under fitful gleams of the sun does you good, especially when you realise that- this is winter. Last year in England the winter was terrible . . .” and Mr. Hindmarsh shuddered realistically as he recalled it. “If you’re a New Zelaander,” he said, looking up at the sky, where the early morning sun was' winning a steady victory over grey, wintry clouds, “if you’re a New Zealander, you can’t do without New Zealand sunshine.”
