A burglar entered Barron’s store nt Kakanni about 4 o’clock this morning and attempted to rob the safe and cash register, but made off when disturbed by the manageress. Miss M. McGregor, who was awakened by a tapping sound, and proceeded to a neighbour’s place for assistance. A hole had been cut in the door by the burglar, who had also disconnected the telephone wires. Nothing appeared to be missing.
