Interesting Afternoon at Club An interesting afternoon was spent at the University Women’s Club on Tuesday, when Mrs. Ponsford, from England (formerly Miss Winifred Griffiths, a graduate of Victoria University College), was entertained by members, and a number of old fellowstudents were Invited to meet her. Miss Batham, president, received the guests. Mrs. Ponsford gave a short account of her experiences since leaving New Zealand, and spoke interestingly of the new Oxford Movement in England and the influence it was having on students and others. Mrs. Hunt thanked Mrs. Ponsford for her speech, and spoke Of the pleasure they all felt In having her among them again. Mr. T. Seddon and Professor von Zedlitz gave reminiscences of an amusing nature, and Mr. G. F. Dixon also spoke, welcoming Mrs. Ponsford and recalling incidents of varsity life. After afternoon tea the fcnany guests had an opportunity of meeting each other and recalling their student days.
