SECOND INGLESIDE
Evening a Big Success CALEDONIAN SOCIETY The second Ingleside of the season held by -the Wellington Caledonian Society took place at the Oddfellows’ Hall, Allen Street, on Saturday evening, July 9. To judge by .the large attendance and the social nature of the gathering, it is evident that the Caledonian Society has come into its own again in the popularity of its inglesides. There was a jollity about the proceedings that characterises an ingleside as a thing apart from an ordinary dance. From the first waltz to the close of the evening everything went with a swing that spoke well for those in charge. There were the modern foxtrots and one-steps, the old-time waltz, valeta, maxina, la rinka, medley, and Lancers and d’Alberts, with the Scots Circassian Circle, eightsome reel, and Highland schottische. Two exhibition dances were given by a reel party, consisting or Miss Jean Miller, Miss Trixie Boyd, and Masters C. Stewart and W. Mcßae; and two songs were sung by Mr. J. Cathcart. Three selections were also given by the Pipe Band. The evening was managed by Mr. W. E. Boyd, master of ceremonies.' who kept things moving in good style. Music for the old-time and modern dances was supplied by Mr. C. Sanders, and that for the Scots dances by the society’s pipers. '
