Combined Teams’ Game HUTT VALLEY v. TOWN A trial -game in which a Town combined team met a Hutt Valley combined team was staged by the 'Wellington Rugby League at the Winter Show grounds on Saturday, afternoon, the latter winning b” 9 points to 8. The ground, which was in a sodden state after the heavy raiu, was not conducive to -good football, but nevertheless an interesting- and even game resulted. Taking the northern end Town team (blue) were' soon on ,the offensive, aud, after the Hutt Viilley had spent some time on the defensive, the Blues set up a passing bout, Crook going over in the corner for a try, which left Simons little chance to convert. Hutt Valley livened up their play after this, and worked to the Blues’ line. Handling the greasy leather well in spite of the conditions. Town transferred play back, Harris, Holmes and .Riddell standing out prominently. ’’ Just before, half-time, and when play was in midfield, Ward (Town) went away in a good dribbling rush, and, snapping the leather up, went over for a well-earn-ed try.
