Westerly winds prevailing; strong in western districts generally, ana or gale force at times in exposed positions; especially about Foveaux Strait; moderate to strong in eastern districts. , >. Seas moderate in eastern districts; heavy about Foveaux Strait; and rough elsewhere in western districts of New Zealand waters. Strong westerly winds in the eastern Tasman Sea and rough seas. Weather mainly fine in eastern districts, but still squally and changeable with intermitten heavy rain in districts with a westerly aspect, accompanied in places by hail or thunder.
