Romance at the Studio QUETD certainly worked overtime on the Fox lot during the filming of Joan Bennett’s new picture, “She Wanted a Millionaire.” Before the picture was finished Joan, who plays the leading feminine role opposite Spencer Tracy, announced her engagement to Gene Markey; Una Merkel, who injects some sparkling humour into the picture, took the vows with Ronald L. Burla, aeronautical engineer, Donald Dillaway announced his engagement to Dorothy Jordan, and James Kirkwood, who plays Miss Bennett’s millionaire husband in the picture, picked himself a real-life wife in the person of Beatrice. Powers, who plays’“Miss Germany” in the film.
