Fields in Taranaki IMPORTANT AGREEMENT Big Company’s Interest An agreement has been arrived at under which the Vacuum Oil Company Proprietary, Ltd., will associate itself with the Taranaki (N.Z.) Oil Fields Company, with the object of further testing and developing the extensive landed concessions oi the latter company and its subsidiaries on the East Coast of the North Island of New Zealand. Commitments of the Vacuum Oil Company to actually engage upon drilling and development work are contingent upon a thorough geological examination by the experts of that company confirming conclusions drawn from the Investigational work already carried out by the Taranaki Company. Mr. Charles M. Taylor, general manager and attorney for the Taranaki Company, which has been steadily pursuing the quest for oil fbr some years past in the Poverty Bay and Taranaki districts, received the announcement yesterday by a cablegram from Melbourne which had been sent on behalf of his directors.
