Methodist Women’s Union A large number of Wellington members of the Methodist Women’s Missionary Union assembled on Tuesday in AVesley Hall under the presidency or Mrs. J. F. Rowe to meet the Rev. A. H. Cropp, from the Solomon Islands, whose charge is 300 miles from the head station at Roviana. His is pioneering work and the village women about whom he spoke more particularly still live in the old way, being the burden-bearers; catching fish, aud preparing it for market, gathering firewood, working on the coconut Planations, and rearing their families. MisCropp and Sister Elizabeth Common work among the women, the former training about 14 girls as well as he own three children, and the' latter acting as teacher, midwife and Plunket nurse all under difficult circumstances. Mr Cropp urged the need of deeper interest even if as much money as before W not available.
