Draw for Doubles Play (Rec. June 15, 9.30 p.m.) London, June 15. The seeded players in the singles at Ae Wimbledon tournament are Cochet, Vines, Shields, Perry, Wood, Austin, Borotra, Crawford. In the doubles Allison and Van Ryu will meet Crawford and Hopman: Perry and Hughes will meet Borotra and Brugnon. In the mixed doubles Vines and Mrs. Willp-Moody will meet Cochet. and Mrs. Whittingsail, Brugnon and Mme. Mathieu will meet. Maier and Miss Ryan, Allison and Miss Jacobs will meet Hopman and Milo. Sigart, and Spence and Miss Nntliair will meet Mangin and Miss Paltry. LONDON TOURNAMENT Play in Early Rounds (Rec. June 15, 9.30 p.m.) London, June 15. There is a strong entry in the London lawn tennis championships at the Queen’s Club. J. B. Crawford beat Blake, 6 —o, G —o; H. O. Hopman beat W. A. R. Collins, 6—o, 6 —2; J. Clemenger beat Lysaght, 9—7, 6 —l; C. Sproule beat Jacobson, B—6,8 —6, 6 —3. In the first round of the women’s singles Mrs. Crawford beat Miss Cook, 6—l, 6 —l. In the second round Mrs. Crawford beat Mrs. Coveli, o—6,0 —6, 6—o, 9—7. In the men’s doubles, first round, Crawford and Hopman beat Colonel Helme and Drake, 6—l, 6—o. DAVIS CUP CONTEST Italy Beats Switzerland London, June 14. In the Davis Cup contest Italy defeated Switzerland and will meet Japan in the semi-final of the European zone.
