Ministerial. The RL Hon. G. W. Forbes, Prime Minister, returned to Wellington from his home at Cheviot yesterday morning. He attended, the match between the” All Black team and Wellington at Athletic Park in the afternoon, and in the evening he presided at a lengthy meeting of Cabinet. He will leave for Palmerston North this afternoon, and this evening he will be entertained by the National Dairy Show authorities there. Mr. Louis Whltcombe arrived in Wellington yesterday morning by the ferry steamer from the south. Mr. G. W. Hutchison, Mayor of Auckland, arrived from Auckland by the Limited express yesterday. Sir James Parr, Leader of the "Legislative Council, left for the south last evening. Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, Auckland, a member of the Local Government Loans Board, arrived from Auckland by the Limited express yesterday. Mr. J. W. Matthewson, general traffic manager for the Union Steam Ship Company, returned to Wellington yesterday after a trip to Australia. Dr. E. Marsden, secretary of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, arrived in Wellington yester day from the south. Mr. C. M. Turrell, Dominion superintendent of the New Zealand Shipping Company, returned to Wellington yesterday from the south. Mr. H. H. Sterling, chairman of the New Zealand Railways Board, arrived from the north by yesterday’s Limited express. Mr. M. E. Lyons, Christchurch; Mr. F. Pickering and Mr. A. Townshend, Auckland; Mr. G. Hollis, Hawera; and Mr. H. B. Willis, Wanganui, are at the Grand Hotel. • Mr. J. S. Webb, the retiring head teacher at Worser Bay School, was farewelled at yesterday’s meeting of the Wellington Education Board. Mr. Webb has been teaching for 434 years. Mr. R. A. Anderson, C.M.G., Invercargill, president of the New Zealand Native Bird Protection Society, came to Wellington yesterday to preside at the meeting of the general executive. Mr. W. Goodfellow, managing director of the New Zealand Co-operative Dairy Co., Ltd.,' arrived from Hamilton yesterday and returned the same evening by the Limited express. Mr. W. J. Wallace, manager of the All Black football team which is leaving . for Australia to-morrow, will be tendered a “send off” at the Commercial Travellers’ Club at 5.15 p.m. today.

Aekins, who was for eight years secretary of the War Pensions Appeal Board and for three years connected with the Repatriation Department, has been appointed secretary of the Auckland Returned Soldiers’ Association.
