Lady Sidey, Dunedin, has arrived in Wellington for a brief visit. Mrs. Alfred Rose, ’Wellington, is on a few days’ visit to Auckland. Miss J. Coster, Anakiwa, is staying with her grandmother, Mrs. Coster, Nelson. Mrs. J. E. Montague-Riccard, who has been visiting Wellington and Christchurch, has returned to Auckland. Mr. and Mrs. G. C. Maltby, who made a motoring tour to Wellington, have returned to Tauranga. Mrs. Maitland, Lower Hutt, who has been visiting Miss Seymour, Picton, has returned home. Mr. and Mrs. Hazlewood, Marlborough, are holiday-making in Nelson and the West Coast. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Fell, Pelorus Sound, are staying with Mj4. Stuart Greehsill, Nelson. Among those present at theAVandka Hotel, Pembroke, last week were Dr. and Mrs. Secular and Mrs. ’W. G. Wood, Napier. Mrs. S. A. Wallace, Wellington, who has been on an extended holiday to the IVest Coast, is at present in Christchurch, and will arrive home to-morrow. Mrs. J. Stewart, of Waterloo Road, Lower Hutt, left on the Rangitane for England to visit her brother, Mr. L. C. Mitchell, of Leicester. Mrs. G. B. Starky, Marlborough, who is visiting her cousin, Mrs. Wiggins, Nelson, will come to ’Wellington and go later to Havelock North, where she will be the guest of Mr. and Mrs. H. Elder. Miss Mary Skerrett, Wellington, intends to spend the season in London and then to go to the Continent. The duration of Miss Skerrett’s stay is uncertain, but she may return to Wellington early next year, states an exchange. The engagement is announced from England of Ethel Beatrice, youngest daughter of Mrs. J. Hunter Williams, of Roehampton and formerly of ’Wellington, to Mr. C. H. M. Waldock (Humphrey), son of Mr. and Mrs. Waldock, of Colombo, Ceylon. Mr. Humphrey AValdock was some time since called to the English Bar and now holds an appointment on tile staff of Brasenose College, Oxford. Miss Ethel Beatrice Williams is a granddaughter of the late Mrs. Mary Anu Williams, so well known in ’Wellington as a benefactress of the Mission to Seamen. Another granddaughter, Ruby, was married a few years ago to a brother of Air. Waldock.
