Hobbs’s Century Double By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright London, June 14. A feature of the county cricket matches was a century by . Hobbs for Surrey in each innings against Essex. This is the sixth time he has performed this feat. C. B. Fry performed it five times. The following are the results:— Worcestershire, 279 (Durston five wickets for 26 runs) and 90 (Robins six for 45); Middlesex, 161 (Jackson five for 45) and 209 for two wickets (Stevens 87 not out). Middlesex won by eight wickets. ' Essex, 207 and 286 (O'Connor 104); Surrey, 243 (Hobbs 113) and 251 for one wicket (Hobbs 119 not out, Gregory 113 not out). Surrey won by nine wickets. . ' Kent, 196 (Chapman 55) and 75 (Rhodes six for 48) ; Yorkshire, 207 (Freeman eight for 105) and j>7 for six wickets. Yorkshire won by four wickets.
Derbyshire, 318 and 210 for nine wickets, declared (Smith 103 not out); Hampshire, 234 (Kennedy 80; Copson five for 48) and 307 for four wickets (Arnold 100. Mead 104 not out). Hampshire won by six wickets. Somerset. 242 and 196 (Larwood five for 58); Notts, 219 (White five for 58) and 206. Somerset won by 13 runs. Northamptonshire, 161 and 259 (Timms 61); Warwickshire, 274 and three for 147. Warwickshire won by seven wickets.
