ALL BLACK TEAM

Hart Unable to Go MAY JOIN SIDE LATER Replaced by N. Ball 111-luck has overtaken the 1932 All Blacks before their tour of Australia commences. It was announced yesterday, following an examination conducted by the New Zealand Rugby Union’s doctor, that G. E. Hart, the Canterbury wing-three-quarter, was not physically fit to undertake the tour.

Hart, who represented New Zealand with credit in 1930 and 1931, fractured a bone in his shoulder while playing for the Christchurch Club in the Canterbury Rugby Union’s Cup competition on Saturday. It was at first thought that the injury would not keep Hart out of the game for more than two weeks, but yesterday’s examination convinced the union authorities that it would be unwise for him to accompany the team when it sails for Sydney on Friday. Mr. S. S. Dean, chairman of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union, Informed “The Dominion” last evening that if the team when in Australia found Itself in need of an extra three-quarter, and in the event of Hart having recovered from his injury, he would be sent across. To fill the vacancy caused by Hart’s compulsory retirement, N. Ball, the

Hutt Club and Wellington representative three-quarter, has been Included in the New Zealand team. Ball played on the wing-three-quarter for New Zealand last season in the only Test I match against Malcolm's All-Austral-dan team at Auckland. He was selected to play for

the North Island last year, but did not take part owing to an injury received in club football in Wellington. He played for the North Island team which defeated the South Island at Christchurch this month. Ball was included in the Wellington team to play New Zealand to-day. It was previously decided by the Rugby Union that none of the Wellington members of the New Zealand team should be available for selection in the city team, but after last night's meeting of the Wellington Rugby Union Mr. J. N, Millard, the selector, told “The Dominion” that Ball would retain bis place on the wing for Wellington in to-day’s match. * To-day’s match at Athletic Park, between a Wellington representative team and a fifteen chosen from the All Black touring team, will begin at 2.45 p.m. A special match between the Hutt valley High School and the Wellington Teclmil cal College ois set down for 1.30 p.m. as a curtain-raiser to the main game.
