CRASH INTO SHOP
Baby Car Out of Control MAN SERIOUSLY HURT Dominion Special Service. Auckland, June 13. A small motor-car, out of control, with a man standing on the runningboard, careered down Wakefield Street' about 10.30 last night, crossed Queen . Street, where it narrowly missed a woman, and crashed into a side window in the shop of Atwaters Piano Company, Fergusson Buildings. The man, who did not attempt to jump off, even when the car had practically reached the shop, was hurled through the doorway into a cabinet gramophone, and then rolled down some stairs, almost to the to hospital, and did not regain conscifrom a deep wound in the head, which bled profusely. The victim, Mr. John Stanley Thomson, of 170 Balmoral Road, was taken to hospital, and did not rgeain consciousness until early this morning. The estimated damage to windows, premises, and contents is in the vicinity of £lOO. This is the third occasion on which this shop has been damaged by runaway motor-vehicles. The damage to the car is estimated at £lOO.
