Queensland Elections LABOUR PARTY’S LEAD (Rec. June 15, 0.15 a.m.) Brisbane, June 14. Additional election returns which arrived to-day made no difference in the state of parties, but it is expected that Labour will have a majority of at least four in the new Parliament. The Treasurer. Mr. W. H. Barnes, commenting on the result of the elections, said that the new Labour Premier, whose promises on the platform had swayed a large body of voters, would soon be brought face to face with the necessity of adhering to the Premiers’ Plan. It would be impossible for him to raise loan money without the assistance of the Loan Council. The only alternative was increased taxation when the realities of the situation would presnet themselves.
