POLICE ROUND-UP
City Warehouse Robbery NUMBER OF ARRESTS Twelve Detectives Engaged Five arrests had been made up till yesterday afternoon, and an additional seven or eight, it is understood, were made last evening in connection with the breaking and entering on Saturday night of the warehouse of W. D. Dobson and Co., 5S Taranaki Street. Two of the men—Reginald Bloomfield, alias Vanderbilt, alias Arthur David Thomas, aged 28, and George Ferguson, aged 24—appeared before Mr. W. 11. Woodward, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, and were remanded until June 22. The others will be brought up this morning. Ferguson and Bloomfield, who were arrested shortly before midnight on Sunday, were refused bail. It was stated by the police that; Bloomfield had been found in possession of a kit of house-breaking instruments, including gelignite, a torch, keys, fuses, grease, a loaded pistol, a drill and other tools. Twelve detectives were engaged yesterday inquiring into the robbery. The value of liquor stolen i< estl-1 mated at about £7O.
