Championship Play at Rose Bay NEW ZEALANDERS’ SCORES Sydney, June 13. Nearly all the lending golf amateurs competed in the New South Wales foursome championship at Rose Bay yesterday. Added interest was given by the presence of the New Zealand and Queensland Kirk-Windeyer Cup teams. The championship was played over thirty-six holes, eighty-two players taking part. Two Manly pairs, H. W. Hattersley and D. M. Garland, and E. L. Apperly and W. C. Sturrock, tied for first place with an aggregate score ot 150. The play-off will take place over eighteen holes to-morrow. The best form among the New Zealanders yesterday was shown by Hornabrook and Silk, who greatly impressed the gallery. New Zealanders’ scores were: Hornabrook and Silk, 77-77—154; Brinsden and Tallis, 84-79—163; Seifert, junr., and George, 81-84—165; Black and Rana Wagg, 82-84 —166. The play-off in the foursomes was won by Hattersley and Garland, with 79. Apperly and Sturrock took 86.
